Un archiving a tar via the godaddy (or reseller) file manager may be a bad idea

While adding plug-ins and WicketPixie I found that Un-archiving a tar via the godaddy (or reseller) file manager may be a bad idea.

It appears as though it delete’s the directory that is a duplicate first then un-archives the directory where it found the duplicate. Unlike in the windows environment you only replace the files that have the same name leaving the other contents secure in their respective places.

Fortunately that was not the database that was getting written over, so all I had to do to get this far was to re install the wordpress files and select a default theme and here is the site up and viewable again.

Sometime tomorrow I hope to have WicketPixie up and running.
